A Guide to Arabic Lessons Online
Every language has its own beauty and usefulness; this includes Arabic, which is a very old and widely spoken language. Everyone has their own reason to learn a language and when it comes to Arabic, people learn it because some get attracted by the sound and beauty of Arabic poetry, songs and religious material including the Quran. Other people learn Arabic for business purposes or to learn about Arabian history and culture. To learn a new language, you don’t need to go to the Middle East to take classes, because learning a new language can be done online. This is now very easy as many companies like Eaalim have virtual classrooms so you don’t need to look for any other resource. If you wish to take Arabic lessons online, follow the steps below:
1. First you need to decide what type of Arabic you want to learn as there are different dialects of Arabic spoken in different countries. There are both modern and classical Arabic courses available that are practiced by Arabs all over the world. You can choose from the classical ‘Fus-ha’ Arabic which is the language of the Quran, or the Arabic spoken in Egypt, North Africa, Syria, Iraq or the modern Arabic of the Gulf States, Saudi Arabia and Yemen.
2. The second thing you need to do is to download the Arabic fonts. You need to do this because most of the Arabic language websites do not show or display correctly on most computers; Arabic fonts are not pre- installed adequately by computer companies as default. So before starting Arabic lessons online make sure you have installed and checked that these Arabic fonts work correctly on your computer.
3. Now choose your course. Once you have installed the fonts, the next thing you need to do is to determine which course you want to do. There are a lot of courses available online; in order to select the best one for yourself, you need to do thorough research and find the course which matches your learning objectives. However, if you are a beginner, make sure you opt for a course which can teach you all the basic fundamentals of the language and after doing that you’ll be able to learn to read and write Arabic.
4. To be well versed with the language you need to find Arabic language media online. This will allow you to take part in various Arabic cultural programs and other media related activities such as news programs. You can look for various newspapers, radio stations, and TV programs to help you practice using the Arabic language even better.
5. Lastly, if you can find yourself a partner with whom you can talk in Arabic, nothing will speed up your learning more than that! You can look for a language partner online and you can easily talk to them on various chat sites like yahoo or Skype. Some online learning institutes have student forums and workshops so that their learners can practice with each other. This will help you in learning the language in a much better way and you will get to know a lot of things by talking to an Arabic language speaker or other students.
So look for an online course and practice Arabic with native Arabic speakers. The online courses are very interactive and they have proven to be very successful.
